The second race of the season took place in the city Baku (Azerbaijan). The races were full of action and chaos with an excellent result for Jordan King during race one. Qualifying All drivers left the pitlane to warm up their tyres. Gelael stopped on track during the warm-up procedure and caused a red flag in the first 5 minutes. Jordan King was driving alone after the restart of the qualifying and took this opportunity to set his time. His time was only good enough for P14, but he was the only one that skipped his warm-up lap to use his advantage of the track position. Mahaveer Raghunathan was 19th fastest after his first run. The first race weekend of the Formula 2 season ended today at the Bahrain circuit. Not an easy weekend at all, because it was all about tyre management. Qualifying   The qualifying started at 14:50 (CET) with the supersoft as the main tyre during this session. Jordan King was 15th with a lap time of 1:42.621 on his first set of tyres. Mahaveer Raghunathan set the 19th best time in his first run. Yellow flags were most of the time out during this run after Callum Ilott crashed. The Formula Renault team of MP Motorsport just left Paul Ricard. Soon after that, the Formula 3 team arrived for two days of testing. Liam Lawson, Simo Laaksonen and Richard Verschoor tested both days with the new Formula 3 cars. The Formula 3 field contains 30 cars. That amount of cars will promise for some great racing this year, but it caused as well for some frustration during the test. The amount of traffic that disturbed the qualifying simulation was a common complained, but an opportunity to learn to deal with it.
