Patricio O’Ward is MP Motorsport’s surprise choice as its stand-in driver for this weekend’s FIA Formula 2 round at the Red-Bull-Ring. The Mexican Red Bull junior will sub for Mahaveer Ragunathan   O’Ward is the reigning Indy Lights champion and made his IndyCar debut with Carlin this season. Qualifying started straight away with a red flag. Alesi got in a collision with Deletraz in the out lap at the start of the qualifying. Jordan King was 12th fastest after his first flying lap with a time of 1:45.664. Mahaveer Raghunathan was 16th at that moment. Jordan’s second push lap was faster but not enough to keep his 12th position. Formula 3 Paul Ricard : good results for MP Motorsport’s drivers

Formula 2 already had some race weekends completed. For Formula 3 this was only the second race weekend of the season. It was a warm and challenging start of the weekend, but it ended positively for some of the drivers. Qualifying For each driver, there were two sets of new tyres and two opportunities to make a fast lap time.
